- Midjourney - the prettiest results, excellent for atmosphere and style.
- DALL·E - built into ChatGPT, the easiest place to start.
- Ideogram - the only one that handles text inside an image decently (signs, posters).
- Canva AI - quick graphics you can tweak right there.
How to write an image prompt
Describe four things: what is in the image + style + light and colour + format. For example: "a cosy cafe, morning light, warm tones, minimal photographic style, landscape."
What it is good for in business
Images for social and your site, illustrations, logo and visual style ideas, backgrounds, product visualisations. Quick concepts you would otherwise pay a designer hours for.
What to watch out for
Do not make other people's logos or protected brands. Photograph real products and real people for real. And expect text inside images to come out broken (Ideogram aside).
AI images are great for an idea and for atmosphere. For anything that has to be exactly right, keep a real photo or a real designer.
