Domain and hosting without the stress
Domains and hosting sound like a technical nightmare, but they are simple. In a few minutes you will know what they are, what you need and what it costs.
A domain = your address
It is the name of your site, for example yourcompany.com. You rent it, for roughly 200 to 300 CZK (about €10) a year. Pick something short and easy to remember, and for a Czech business the ending .cz.
Hosting = where the site lives
The space the site runs on so it stays reachable. For a small business, cheap shared hosting is plenty. Often whoever builds the site sorts it for you.
What you actually need
Three things: a domain + hosting + the site itself. With a done-for-you site you usually get it all together and never have to think about it (with me hosting is included, 300 CZK a month).
Email on your domain
The address name@yourcompany.com looks far more professional than a business on a free mailbox. You can set it up with the domain.
What to watch out for
Make sure the domain is registered in your name, not on an agency. Keep an eye on the renewal (or you lose it) and run the site on HTTPS - that padlock in the browser.
Domains and hosting are not rocket science. You are renting an address and a bit of space. A few hundred crowns a year - and it is the foundation everything else stands on.
Would rather not deal with any of this?
I will build you a done-for-you site with the domain, hosting and email included - you never touch the technical side. From 9,900 CZK (~€400), hosting 300 CZK a month. Get in touch.
