Why templates
They save time and, more importantly, hold the quality. Instead of wondering "how do I phrase this again", you fill in a few blanks. The answers are consistent and you stop reinventing the same thing.
What a good template looks like
A fixed part (role, style, format) plus blanks in [square brackets] to fill in. Write it properly once, then recycle it.
Three templates to start with
- A reply to a customer: "You are a friendly, concise customer support person. Reply to this message warmly, resolve [problem] and offer [solution]. 5 sentences max. Message: [paste]."
- A social post: "You are a copywriter for [industry]. Write a post about [topic], tone [friendly/expert], 3 sentences max, ending with a call to action."
- Document summary: "Summarise the attached text into 5 bullet points and list the tasks with deadlines. Answer only from the text, do not invent anything."
Where to keep them
