How to roll out AI so it does not fizzle out

Most company AI enthusiasm fizzles out within a month. Here is a path from a small pilot to a routine that sticks - and that actually delivers something.

Why it usually fizzles out

Three reasons: enthusiasm with no concrete goal, too much scope at once, and nobody accountable. The AI gets bought, played with for a while, and then goes to sleep.

A process that works

  1. Find one concrete problemthat hurts and keeps coming back.
  2. Run a small pilot - one process, a few weeks.
  3. Measure the benefit (time saved, speed, fewer mistakes).
  4. Get people involved - show them, train them, listen to them.
  5. Turn it into routine, and only then add the next one.

Where to start

In routine that eats time and needs no brainpower - retyping data, enquiries, reports (see automation course). A quick win gets a team on board far better than a grand vision.

What to watch out for

Do not roll out AI for the sake of AI. Always solve a concrete problem - otherwise it becomes an expensive toy.

AI in a company does not fail on the technology. It fails because it is launched too big and with no goal. Start small and measurable.

I will find the first process with you, measure the benefit and deploy it so it lasts. Tell me where it hurts most.
