Website copy that sells
The most common mistake on small business websites: they talk about themselves, not about the customer. Here is how to write copy that sells without sounding like an advert.
Talk about the customer, not about yourself
Instead of "we have been in business for 10 years", write what the customer gets out of it: "10 years of doing this means it will not hurt". People are not interested in you, they are interested in their problem.
A clear headline right at the top
A visitor decides in a few seconds. Make sure the headline instantly tells them what you do and who for. No cleverness required.
A structure that works
Headline → the problem you solve → your solution → proof (testimonials, numbers) → call to action. Simple, and it works.
One clear call to action
Tell the person what to do: write, call, book. One main action, not five buttons that leave them confused.
AI will help you
Have AI write the first draft of the copy (see content course) and then tune it to your own voice. A blank page stops being a problem.
A website is not about how good you are. It is about how fast a visitor understands that you will solve their problem.
