"What will a website cost?" is a question most businesses get fogged on. Here is a straight answer - what drives the price, what the real rates in Czechia are and what I charge.
Why website prices vary so much
The price of a website is set not by the number of pages but by the scope of the work and who does it. The same "website" can cost 5,000 CZK or 500,000. The main factors:
- Template vs custom design - a bought template for a few hundred looks like thousands of other sites. A design built around your brand costs more, but it sets you apart.
- Scope - a one-page site is a fraction of the cost of a large site with a shop, a blog and a booking system.
- Who builds it - an agency has overhead (an account manager, a project manager, a team) and you pay for it. A freelancer is cheaper because they do the work themselves.
- Content - writing the copy and preparing the photos takes time. Supply them and you save; have the builder prepare them and the price goes up.
Real prices in Czechia (2026)
As a rough guide, for an ordinary small business website:

On top of the one-off price there is almost always running costs: a domain (a few hundred crowns a year) and hosting (a few hundred crowns a month depending on the provider).
What to watch out for
- Hidden items - "a website from 3,000 CZK" and then surcharges for responsiveness, a contact form, SEO... Ask what is included.
- Who owns the website - with some "website rental" deals you get neither the code nor the domain and you are trapped.
- Speed and mobile - a slow mobile site costs you customers and Google rankings alike.
